I will never be popular. Yes, I have made tons of friends over the years, and managed to retain most of them in good standing (Sorry J.L., call me!). But I will never be popular in that high school cool way. I am too unwilling to mute my personality, water down my acidic wit, or generally appear to be anything other than unusual, and slightly eccentric.

That's it. Just me as me for the rest of my life. Don't worry, if you met me you may or may not like me, but I am just as I appear; a little insecure, hopefully funny and nice, and sometimes a looker, sometimes not - depending on the level of girl camouflage. Sometimes moody, mean and disagreeable with absolutely no sense of humor, at all. So..that's it. I'll never be popular, probably not because I don't want to be (double/triple negatives here.) I'll never be popular, frankly, because I don't know nor want to know how to fit in. Makes for an interesting life anyway.
